Introducing Purely Organized: Embracing a Low-Toxic Lifestyle
At Graceful Spaces, we have always been passionate about helping our clients create homes that are beautifully organized and deeply functional. But over the last two years, our journey has taken us down a new path—one that has reshaped our lives and our business. We are thrilled to introduce Purely Organized, a service born from personal experience, deep learning, and a mission to make low-toxic living more accessible.
A Personal Journey Toward Clean Living
In 2022, our family’s world was turned upside down when my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. After chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, we committed ourselves to learning everything we could about how lifestyle changes could support his long-term recovery and long-term health.
Despite already considering ourselves a healthy family—we exercised, ate well, and prioritized a clean lifestyle—we were shocked to discover the number of toxins hidden in our everyday lives. From the water we drank to the household essentials we used, we had unknowingly been exposed to harmful chemicals daily.
The desire to make immediate changes was intense, but we quickly realized how overwhelming the process could be.
The financial burden: Replacing everyday items with safer alternatives was expensive.
The logistical challenge: Ordering, organizing, and integrating new products into our daily routine while maintaining our busy lives felt daunting.
The educational gap: Deciphering what was truly low-toxic versus just clever marketing was confusing.
These challenges sparked deep conversations in our home and with close friends, including my beloved business partner, Rebecka, and her husband, Tom. Their own experiences with family health crises fueled the same desire for change. Together, we navigated the confusion, the research, and the transition. What we found was that we weren’t alone—our clients and team members were facing similar struggles.
From Personal Experience to a Professional Mission
As we worked through this transition, we realized that our company was already well-positioned to help others take on this challenge. Through our Fresh Starts service, we had been guiding clients in choosing essentials that support their lifestyles. Now, we saw the opportunity to take it a step further and help clients integrate low-toxic products seamlessly into their homes.
With Purely Organized, we are committed to:
Providing expert guidance: Our team has spent the last two years researching, consulting with professionals, and personally testing products to curate truly low-toxic options.
Handling the heavy lifting: From sourcing to ordering, receiving, unboxing, and installing, we take care of the logistics so that our clients don’t have to.
Offering tailored solutions: Whether a client wants to transition their entire home at once or take it space by space, we customize a plan that fits their needs and budget.
Ensuring a beautiful and functional home: Toxin-conscious living doesn’t have to mean sacrificing design. We carefully select products that align with both our clients’ lifestyles and their home’s aesthetic.

WE’RE Still on This Journey, Too
It’s important to us that our readers know—we are still on this journey ourselves. Every product and transition we share here is something we have personally tested and found effective. Many of these swaps were recommended by our product team, and we are excited to link the items that have truly worked for us. While we have made significant changes to our home, there is still more to do! Below is a list of updates we've made to our lifestyle and household essentials.
Low-Toxic Lifestyle Updates:
As we’ve continued our journey toward a non-toxic lifestyle, we’ve made several intentional updates to our home and routines. From improving our water and air quality to refining our personal care and wellness practices, each change has been a step toward creating a healthier environment. Some updates have been as simple as swapping out cleaning products, while others, like adding a water filtration system or exploring fasting and health tracking, have been more transformative. Every choice has brought us closer to a home that supports our well-being. While we know this is an ongoing process, we’re excited to share the changes we’ve made so far — and hopefully inspire others to take small, meaningful steps of their own.
Air Purification: Upgraded our air purification system to improve indoor air quality.
EMF Reduction: We turn our WiFi on a timer so it is off between 11 PM - 5 AM and moved cell phones into protective covers at night.
Home Wellness Additions: Added an in-home sauna and converted a small storage room into a gym.
Cleaning, Dishwashing & Laundry:
We’ve really grown to appreciate Branch Basics products for our everyday cleaning needs. Their concentrate, paired with vinegar and baking soda, has been a go-to for general cleaning, and their new dish pods with a plastic-free coating have made dishwashing a breeze. For laundry, we’ve chosen Clean People, adding essential oils and using wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets for a fresh, natural scent. We’ve also embraced a new routine of vacuuming our mattresses and couches with a dust mite vacuum, followed by a homemade spray for an extra layer of cleanliness and freshness.
Personal care & wellness
We’ve made some thoughtful shifts in our personal care and wellness routines, opting for low-toxic alternatives for bath soaps, oral care, and other personal care products. For makeup, ILIA Beauty has been a go-to for its clean ingredients and skin-loving formulas, while Primally Pure and Goop have become staples in my skincare routine. Instead of turning to Botox, I’ve embraced natural wellness practices like gua sha, facial cupping, and microneedling at my acupuncturist’s office, which have felt both restorative and refreshing. These changes have not only supported healthier skin but have also brought a sense of intentionality and care to my daily rituals.
Low-Toxic Kitchen Upgrades
We’ve made a few thoughtful adjustments in the kitchen to support our non-toxic lifestyle. One of the biggest hits has been swapping our girls’ lunchboxes to PlanetBox, which they are absolutely loving. While they are a higher price point, we’ve been so pleased with the quality, and the girls were so excited that they made lunches in them the very day they arrived — even without school! We’ve also updated all of our water cups and straws to safer alternatives and replaced our pots and pans with Caraway cookware for healthier cooking. Additionally, we installed a full-home water filtration system with reverse osmosis for drinking water. Working with a local plumber, we customized the system based on our city’s water report to ensure the highest water quality for our family.
Nutrition & Gut Health:
Our journey toward better nutrition and gut health has been just that — a journey. It’s a lifelong commitment to learning, evolving, and making intentional choices that support our well-being. We’re continually exploring new perspectives, educating ourselves, and making adjustments along the way. From fasting practices to gut health insights, we’ve discovered a variety of resources that have shaped our approach and inspired meaningful change.
Here are a few that have been particularly impactful for us:
• The book Fasting Like a Girl: Inspired us to explore 3-5 day fasts and gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of fasting.
• Chris Beat Cancer: Chris’s story, book, and online resources have been incredibly inspiring, offering valuable insights on nutrition, healing, and overall wellness.
Food Choices: Overhauled our grocery shopping using the EWG Healthy Living App to choose cleaner, healthier options.
Gut & Health Insights: Used Viome to look deeper into potential health problems and now putting more focus on oral health through those findings.
Fasting & Health Tracking: Using Clue to track my menstrual cycle and link fasting schedules and exercises to optimize health.
Blood Sugar Monitoring: Used the Lingo app and device to monitor blood sugar, which taught me a lot about my morning routine and how eating out—no matter how "healthy"—always spiked blood sugar. This has motivated me even more to eat at home.
Making Low-Toxic Living Attainable
One of the biggest obstacles to adopting a low-toxic lifestyle is the feeling of overwhelm. So often, people abandon their goals because they simply don’t have the time or capacity to make it happen. Purely Organized eliminates these barriers by handling the details, ensuring that clients can focus on enjoying a healthier, toxin-free home.
Our Space by Space program makes it even easier by allowing clients to transition at their own pace. Whether they want to overhaul their entire home or start with just one area, we work with them to create a manageable, realistic plan.

A Personal Note of Gratitude
We are incredibly blessed and overjoyed to share that my husband, Graeme, is doing GREAT! He has not only fully recovered from his treatments but has reclaimed his strength in an inspiring way. He recently completed a Spartan race and is already training for his next challenge. His resilience, determination, and commitment to living a vibrant, healthy life fuel our passion for helping others do the same.
With gratitude, Christina
P.S. If you or a loved one are dealing with cancer, I want to express my love and support. When Graeme was diagnosed, I was told, "Welcome to a club you never wanted to join." These bittersweet words are incredibly true. This club—the one no one wants to join—is filled with love and support. I want to offer you the same kindness that was extended to me. Please know that you are not alone.
