The Bare Roots Project

When Stefany and Nick Bare reached out to us for help, they were looking for more than just a functional space—they wanted a home where they could plant roots for their growing family. A space that would support their health-conscious, busy lifestyle while also reflecting their values and personal aesthetic.

Getting Organized & Grounded After Moving into a New Home in Georgetown, TX

Having recently relocated to Georgetown, TX, Stefany and Nick had been through two cross-country moves in the span of a year, all while managing their thriving wellness business, Bare Performance Nutrition, and growing their family. With a newborn and a toddler in tow, they knew it was time to create a space that felt like home—a place where they could feel grounded, energized, and truly settled. That’s where we came in.

The Bare Roots Project became more than just a home organization project—it was about designing a space that was rooted in Stefany and Nick’s wellness-focused lifestyle, their entrepreneurial spirit, and the love they have for their family. From the start, our goal was to create an environment where every detail, from the layout to the organizational systems, would work together to support their everyday routines, health, and personal style.

Whole Home Organization in Texas

Stephany and Nick were looking for whole home organization. We addressed the:

The Graceful Spaces Organization Process Begins

Our process always begins with an in-depth consultation to fully understand the family’s needs, lifestyle, and vision.

Stefany and Nick’s vision was clear: they wanted a home that nurtured their family, prioritized health and wellness, and, of course, felt personal and stylish. In our initial meetings, we discussed:

Health and Wellness: How could their home design support their active, health-conscious routines? From meal prep to exercise and recovery, every space needed to have functionality that served their wellness goals.

•Family-Friendly Design: With young children, it was essential that the spaces be practical and adaptable to growing kids, making it easy to keep things organized and accessible for everyone.

Storage Needs: After two moves in quick succession, they were eager to eliminate clutter and find smart storage solutions that could help them feel more organized and at ease in their space.

Personal Aesthetic: Stefany and Nick wanted their home to reflect their personal style—a blend of elegance, practicality, and wellness-focused elements.

Stefany and Nick value both form and function. With this in mind, we knew our approach needed to go beyond traditional home organizing. We were designing spaces that would provide clarity and peace in their busy lives, while also showcasing their commitment to health, wellness, and quality.

Customized Design & Organization Solutions for the Whole Home

Once we understood Stefany and Nick’s needs and vision, we moved into the product design phase. This began with a collaborative meeting with our Product and Special Services team. These meetings are a cornerstone of our process, providing a chance to dive into the specifics of the project.

During this session, we reviewed Stefany and Nick’s existing inventory, discussed product preferences, and prioritized their organizational needs for each space. Often, this meeting also involves connecting with the interior designer or receiving a detailed overview of the home’s design vision. This ensures that every product we select aligns seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of the home.

Interior Design: Bide Studio

Bide Studio is a full-service interior design firm that focuses on creating spaces that bring peace and restoration to our clients. Our designs are thoughtfully crafted to create a sense of tranquility, inviting you to slow down and cherish the moment. We believe your home is a sacred space that should be handled with care and intention to cultivate a deeply personal sanctuary catered specifically for you and those you dwell with.

The Bare’s had a solid foundation of organizational products already in place, which helped streamline the process. Our team used this time to discuss the unique needs of their spaces and map out solutions tailored to their lifestyle.

With these insights, our product team got to work, creating design board options for key areas of the home. These boards served as a visual and practical guide, showcasing thoughtfully curated product options for the Bare’s to choose from.

This collaborative process allowed Stefany and Nick to see how each product would fit into their home, ensuring that every detail felt intentional and cohesive.

Kitchen Organization: Streamlined for Health and Efficiency

As an avid cook and wellness enthusiast, Stefany needed a kitchen that would support her health-conscious meal prep while accommodating the busy needs of her family. This kitchen isn’t just beautiful—it’s a highly practical, well-thought-out space designed to streamline the family’s daily routines. Every detail was carefully planned to maximize organization and functionality, making this the perfect space for both cooking and spending time together.

When you walk into the home, the kitchen is the first thing you see—and it’s breathtaking. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, it’s the functional details that make this space a true standout. Using the abundance of storage and thoughtful zoning, we created a kitchen that truly supports the Bare family’s lifestyle, as they spend a ton of time here. From baking Stefany’s latest loaf of sourdough (we’re still waiting to get our hands on some!) to preparing healthy, home-cooked meals this space is set up to be a prime space where core family memories are made.

Our method is simple, yet impactful. Every element is intentional, ensuring that this kitchen feels as functional as it is beautiful. Here’s a breakdown of how we approached it:

Spices: To the left of the stove, we designed a spice drawer that keeps everyday spices within easy reach, decanted into matching jars for quick access. Above the drawer, bulk specialty spices are neatly categorized in bins, easily accessible but without the need for decanting. This layout ensures the Bare family can cook with ease and precision.

Kids’ Zone: A key element Stefany requested was creating a space for the kids’ plates, bowls, and cups within their reach. This allows the children to serve themselves while maintaining order in the kitchen, promoting independence and reducing the need for constant assistance.

Cooking Utensils and Essentials: To the right of the stove, we dedicated space for cooking utensils and essential tools. It might seem like a small detail, but placing the most-used items in an intuitive spot has a huge impact on how easily and efficiently the family can move around the kitchen.

While these might sound like simple ideas, their impact is undeniable. You might think that we place things in the same way for every client, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Each client’s cooking rhythm, preferences, and even their dominant hand all influence how we zone out the kitchen. The result is a customized layout that fits each family’s unique needs and habits. This kitchen is the perfect example of how thoughtful planning and a personalized approach can elevate a space into something truly special.

Home Pantry Organization: A Work of Art

We often say that a pantry can be a true masterpiece, but this one? It might just be our favorite. Designed with precision and intention, this pantry is a unique collaboration between design vision, practical needs, and our team’s expertise. The result is a space that stands out as both an art piece and a hub of organization. Stefany and Nick’s focus on healthy eating required a pantry that was as beautiful as it was efficient. Every detail, from Neat Method baskets and rich wood elements to gold labels and soft neutrals, was carefully curated to complement the home’s aesthetic while elevating its functionality.

The success of this pantry highlights the expertise of our Product Team, whose ability to blend design with everyday needs brought this project to life. They worked seamlessly with the interior design team and clients to create a space that shines and supports the family’s needs. A standout feature in the pantry is the custom wood doors, sourced from Bide Studio, adding an elegant, cohesive touch. The glass doors required thoughtful planning to ensure the design wasn’t just beautiful but functional, allowing the pantry to blend effortlessly into the home’s flow—goals fully achieved.

Key Pantry Organization Features:

Supplement Organization: Protein powders and daily supplements are neatly organized and easily accessible in their original containers. This dedicated zone also doubles as a quick grab-and-go spot for Nick to take his supplements as part of his morning routine.

Baking Essentials: Stefany’s love for sourdough is reflected in the dedicated space for flour, ingredients, and baking tools—perfectly organized for easy access.

Kids’ Zone: Snacks are stored out of reach for the little ones but easily accessible for the older kids. Using Neat Method baskets and The Home Edit tall inserts, snacks are organized by type, ensuring everything is easy to find.

Bottle Making Zone: With the essentials right at their fingertips, this zone is perfectly designed for preparing bottles or other family-specific needs. Every item is thoughtfully placed for ease and convenience.

Baking Ingredients: While Stefany and Nick chose to keep their protein powders and supplements in their original containers, they considered storing baking essentials—flour, sugar, chocolate chips, oats, and more—in glass and bamboo canisters.

Mudroom: Organizing for a Busy Family Life

Directly off the garage is an entry point to the home, where a dedicated drop zone allows each family member to leave their shoes, backpacks, and all those daily essentials. The mudroom was intentionally designed with a set of lockers, each zoned for specific categories, ensuring everything has its place and is easily accessible.

Nick’s Running Gear: The first locker is designated for Nick’s running gear. This includes his clothes, shoes, accessories, and anything else he needs for his morning runs. Having a specific space for these items means Nick can grab everything he needs in one spot before heading out the door.

Kids’ Essentials: The second locker is designed for the kids’ daily necessities. This includes diapers, wipes, stroller essentials, and anything else that needs to be readily available when the family is on the go. The organization makes it easy for Stefany and Nick to quickly grab what’s needed for the little ones as they head out the door.

Pool Gear: The third locker is dedicated to pool gear, ensuring that everything related to pool time—from towels to sunscreen to pool toys—has its place. This makes it easy to access when the family is ready to enjoy some fun in the sun.

Organization & Storage for the Laundry Room

This laundry room is not just a place to wash clothes—it’s a highly functional and beautifully designed space that supports the family’s everyday needs. It’s the ideal place for organization, making it easy to grab everyday essentials and keep everything in order.

Laundry Zone: Of course, the laundry zone itself is a standout feature. With dedicated spaces for detergents, fabric softeners, and other laundry essentials, this space is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Holiday Essentials: The laundry room also features a dedicated space for holiday items, such as plates, decorations, and supplies for celebrations like Fourth of July and family birthdays. This makes it easy to access these items when a holiday or special occasion rolls around.

Health and First Aid: A well-organized cabinet for medicine and first aid supplies ensures that health essentials are always within arm’s reach. There’s also a drawer for easy access to other health necessities like batteries and flashlights, ensuring the family is always prepared.

Dog Essentials: With the family’s dog in mind, we created a space specifically for pet supplies conveniently located near the bowls, including leashes, food, and any other items that need to be easily accessible.

A well-zoned and thoughtfully designed laundry room is the key to a streamlined routine. It transforms a typically dreaded task into one that feels achievable, efficient, and even enjoyable. For Stefany, this space is more than just a place for laundry—it’s her command center. Beyond washing and folding, it houses first aid and medicine, household essentials like batteries and simple tools, dog necessities, holiday supplies, and even her Skylight Calendar. This multifunctional space supports daily life in more ways than one, offering the peace of mind that, in those unpredictable moments—whether reaching for a thermometer or replacing a battery—everything is exactly where it should be, no rummaging required.

Primary Suite: Closet Organization with Thoughtful Design and Personal Touches

When you first step into the primary closet, Stefany’s section immediately catches your eye. We wanted to make a bold visual statement right from the entrance, and after considering several options, we decided to style both hats and shoes here, transforming the space into something more personal and thoughtfully styled. Initially, we had planned to simply create a drop zone for shoes, but after further reflection, we realized that Stefany’s impressive collection of hats was the perfect focal point. Displaying her stylish, fun hats not only added character but also turned the space into a true reflection of her personality. The result? A beautifully styled entry into the closet that’s anything but ordinary.

We utilized the gorgeous built-in dresser in the closet for Stefany’s everyday essentials, like workout gear, pajamas, intimates, and t-shirts—items she reaches for most often. The shelving above the dresser provided an ideal spot to display more of her beautiful accessories and hats, adding texture and style to the space.

For additional shoes not used for styling, we found an opportunity to optimize a space behind the door that was otherwise underutilized. By adding custom-fit stackable shelving, we created a discreet yet practical solution for storing her shoes, maintaining a clean, functional look.

As shown in the photo, we used two different sizes of stackable shoe shelves: from Lowe’s and The Container Store. This combination allowed us to make the most of the available space while keeping everything organized.

Nick’s section of the closet is thoughtfully designed with his needs in mind. We made sure his more formal clothing was immediately visible as you walk in, creating a sophisticated first impression. Behind the scenes, we organized his workout gear—though it’s a substantial collection, we ensured it wasn’t the focal point of the closet. Instead, we focused on making his everyday items easy to access but discreetly stored.

custom closet tip

A key element we had to get creative with was his shoe shelving. Due to the custom design of the closet, the original shelving was just a few inches too short to accommodate his shoes properly. We adapted by rethinking the arrangement, turning this challenge into a visual opportunity that worked beautifully in the space. Tip: If you’re building a custom closet, make sure your team is asking the right questions to ensure every detail is truly tailored to your needs. This is exactly why we created our Building Luxury service—because true customization goes beyond aesthetics. We’d love to work with you!

The upper bins were thoughtfully categorized to maximize functionality, creating designated spaces for seasonal items, cherished memories, and bags. This simple yet effective system ensures everything has a place, making it easy to rotate essentials as needed while keeping sentimental and everyday items neatly stored and accessible.

Bathroom Organization & Design

In the bathroom, we maintained our standard approach to keeping daily essentials within easy reach. The top cabinets hold items Stefany and Nick use every day, while the lower cabinets are reserved for weekly or less frequently used items, as well as overflow. This ensures their routines run smoothly, without any clutter in sight.

Kid-Friendly Design & Organization That Grows With Them

With young children, it was important to design spaces that were both functional and flexible. We organized the kids’ closets and play areas in a way that allowed them to grow with the children’s needs, providing a sense of independence while maintaining an organized home.

Charlie’s room

Charlie’s bedroom is truly musical, filled with vibrant colors and adorable pieces that reflect her fun-loving spirit. Her dresser was fully outfitted and zone-planned for easy access to everything she needs during her daily activities. We ensured that the essentials—like diapers and wipes—were easily accessible, while also creating a space where Charlie could pick out her shoes and clothes. From her glittery boots to floral sweaters, it’s clear that Charlie has an impeccable fashion sense—her closet is every little girl’s dream! We kept categories clear in her closet so she can help pick out her outfits, and there’s a designated space for seasonal items, donations, and memories. The next-size bin is key here—whenever Charlie outgrows an item, it can be added to the proper bin (donate or store), while the next-size clothing is ready for her when she needs it. We also added a donate bin to keep things fresh and functional as Charlie’s wardrobe evolves.

Niko’s nursery

Niko’s room is similarly designed to be both functional and easy for parents to manage. In his dresser, we made sure there was a dedicated drawer for all of his baby essentials, from pacifiers to thermometers, so everything is within easy reach for the busy parents. His closet was designed with the same system—there’s a clear space for current clothing and a next-size bin for when he grows out of his current pieces. This keeps everything organized and accessible, so when Niko reaches that next stage, his clothing is ready and waiting.

Nursery organization is all about functionality—making sure that both everyday tasks and unexpected moments are easier to manage. From late-night wake-ups to a sudden fever, having essentials within reach can make all the difference. In the top drawer of Niko’s dresser, everything is thoughtfully placed—diapers, wipes, creams, and other necessities—so Mom and Dad can grab what they need without a second thought.

In the closet, labeled bins keep everything organized and easy to find. Categories include overflow diapers and wipes, tech accessories, memories, and toys—ensuring every item has a place and is accessible when needed.

Playroom Organization

The playroom was set up with a combination of open and hidden storage to keep toys and games organized but accessible. We love using the large felt bins from Target in playrooms, as they are super kid-friendly, lightweight, and soft. This makes them easy for children to use on their own, but also safe if they accidentally knock them over. To ensure the space is both functional and safe, we made sure to place any heavier items on the lower shelves and items that may require parent supervision—like art supplies—out of reach. The donate bin is another key feature in this space, allowing parents to easily clear out any toys that are outgrown or no longer needed.

We designed each space with simple, easy-to-follow systems that would grow with the children. The goal was to create a space where everything had its place, making it easy for the whole family to maintain, while keeping their needs in mind—whether it’s a baby needing a quick diaper change or a toddler reaching for a favorite toy.

A playroom inspired by the builders bliss

Our client drew inspiration from another Austin project, The Builder’s Bliss, where we used Target felt bins and clips to create an organized, kid-friendly playroom closet. We love incorporating these bins into children’s spaces because their soft material and lightweight design make them easy for little hands to manage independently. Plus, with various size options, they provide flexible storage solutions that grow with a child’s needs.
