Building Luxury: Custom Design Plans That Prioritize Organization

The next level in luxury

We’re so excited to reveal Graceful Spaces’ newest service:

Custom Design Plans!

Using the same CAD software as your contractor and interior designer, (ensuring we’re all speaking the same language) we're joining the team to ensure your custom cabinetry is the perfect size for your personal collection.

So often we’ve stepped into beautiful designed custom spaces that just don’t function.

Closets without proper shoes storage. Drawers that are too shallow or just far too deep. Cabinets that don’t fit a standard plate.

We believe that when you make an investment, not only should your custom projects meet the basic standards, they should be tailored to your specific collections. We’re on the team to talk about what you own and will make sure there’s ample room for your items so that nothing gets crammed in at move-in.

We also have the opportunity to see so many unique and amazing spaces. So we get really excited when we can share those unique solutions that can be added to custom projects.

This project was no exception and we’re thrilled to take you on a tour of this custom garage.

Starting with a blank slate, the Graceful Spaces team took the time to understand the items that were kept in the garage and how they were used.

The wall off the house door became a natural fit for a locker/mudroom drop zone for daily sports equipment and shoes.

Creating space for drop zone and sports equipment was a top priority. Knowing the items that the family used regularly gave the opportunity to create custom “lockers” for bats and ball storage.

Pro Tip: Being mindful of sizing and ensuring shelves are the correct depth and height, we added taller shoe storage up high for boots.

Each section of the garage is tailored so that the custom cabinetry is the perfect size for holiday storage, seasonal storage and daily activities .

Out-of-season items are stored in large baskets in the higher cubbies and in-season items such as hats, socks and cheer accessories are stored in water hyacinth baskets in lower cubbies.

By taking inventory of what the family owned and how they used the items we were able to ensure that was ample space for all items and that the custom cabinet investment was worth every penny.

For smaller items that needed to be easily accessed such as balls and outdoor toys, we added Elfa pull out bins. Easy to see, label, access… and easy for everyone in the household to be on the same page when it comes to clean up.

Bat storage was found on Amazon making it easy to store, see, and access up to 14 bats at a time.

Labeling is hands down one of the most important steps when it comes to sustainability. To ensure everyone is on the same page we clearly labeled each bin and basket.

Pro Tip: For outdoor labels (or labels exposed to high humidity such as bathroom labels) be sure to use permanent vinyl.

Seasonal storage was made easy with matching outdoor storage bins. Less frequently used items stored at the top and more frequently used holiday items available on lower shelving for easy grab-n-go.
