The GS Perfectly Posh Home
The Graceful Spaces Perfectly Posh Home Tour
The Graceful Spaces team specializes in whole home organizing and we're thrilled to share the details from our projects through our Home Tour series. We’re thrilled to share #thegsperfectlyposh project.
The GS Perfectly Posh was a move in project during which 10 spaces were fully organized in just 5 days! The home was filled with custom solutions but also had opportunity for us to create our own solutions including Elfa shelving systems for a game closet and for a holiday closet under the stairs.
The 4 bedroom home was filled with space, but did come with its share of storage challenges including limited kitchen cabinet space, shoe storage limitations in the master closet and uniquely sized drawers in the master bathroom. Proof that no matter the size of a home, sustainable solutions are something that need to be thought through.
The Kitchen
A space that is a model of simplicity. This kitchen contains only the items needed and used on a regular basis.
Our favorite sustainable solution in this space was the coffee station. With little cabinet and counter space we opted for a “coffee" drawer”, made possible by The Home Edit Pantry Canisters. Acrylic drawer organizers in various sizes allowed us to play tetris until we found the perfect fit.
Pro Tip: Use museum gel on the bottom of organizers to keep items from shifting around. Completely removable, reusable and non-toxic, the gel is a type of liquid plastic that reacts to the size and weight of the object being secured to create a customized, secure bond between the object and display surface.
The Pantry
Space was not an issue in the two large pantry cabinets, but we did need to ensure that all pantry items were visible and accessible, especially at the back of the cabinets. The Home Edit canisters were a staple in this kitchen for both drawers and the pull out pantry shelves because of their completely clear lids which allow for seeing down. Deep Linus bins allowed categories to have a clear home without bleeding into one another.
Labeling was of course a big investment in sustainability for this space. Clearly marked labels allow everyone in the household to be on the same page. (Which means no more excuses when it comes to putting groceries away!!)
Sustainable Solution: Utilize clear lidded products when you need to use drawer storage.
The Master Bathroom
Limited drawer space was an issue… and even more limited was the unique size of these gorgeous bathroom drawers. We did our homework and found two expandable drawer organizers that created space for daily items. Hair products and larger daily products went under the sink in divided Lazy Susans.
Travel supplies, overstock and linens were placed in a single cabinet.
Pro tip: Measure every drawer even if they look similar.
The Mudroom & Garage
A gentleman’s garage is complete with categorized bins for hobbies and activities. We chose to use Bigso boxes to elevate the look of this space. Weather tight totes are a go-to when heavy duty solutions are needed.
Sustainable Solution: Use outdoor vinyl when creating labels for spaces that will be exposed to the elements.
The Master Closet
This closet is one for the books. This beautiful collection deserved to be on display which meant we needed to use every inch of the space. So, Rebecka threw her mind into the solutions and Sarah broke out the saw! The layout was completely shifted and zoned. Additional shelving was cut to allow more shoe storage.
We used wooden pant hangers to display scarves and acrylic handbag storage to display smaller handbags. Command hooks were used to grab any spare wall space for hats and stackable Bigso and sweater boxes were placed up high for seasonable storage.
Pro Tip: No matter the size of your space, it’s always a good idea to add a small element of decor to make the space your own.
The Laundry Room
Another space that is dedicated to simplicity and order. Deep Linus Bins allowed us to utilize the depth of the cabinets while complimenting the sleek design of the space. Turntables (or Lazy Susans) are a staple in every Graceful Spaces home and perfect for frequently used categories.
Functional Decor Tip: Display items used daily such as tide pods and dryer sheets in glass jars and acrylic boxes.
The Guest House
Creating a welcome feel in this space was not hard at all with the beautiful decorations filling the kitchen, bath and two bedrooms. We wanted to ensure that guests felt as if they were in a luxury hotel - welcome and taken care of. We stocked the pantry with baskets perfect for a small pantry and added a “help yourself” basket with labels to the bathroom.
Add a “help yourself” basket to your guest space to make them feel welcome. Filled with travel items such as soaps, shampoos, razors and q-tips, your guests will not only feel at home but also taken care of.
Kids Closets
We created a streamline look in both spaces by adding coordinating baskets as well as matching linen hangers. Because of the limited space we used the baskets on the higher shelving for out of season items. A seasonal rotation will need to happen twice a year but, no problem because this is the perfect opportunity to edit and refocus! Command hooks allowed us to utilize wall space and of course we added labels to everything (including the drawers) so everyone is on the same page.
