The Hillside View Home

Welcome to the Graceful Spaces Hillside View Home tour!

We had the pleasure of helping this Austin-based restauranteur duo add functionality to their dreamy new home. From a boutique-worthy primary closet to a pantry fit for a foodie, you’re sure to find inspiration in every space!

The Primary Closet

Graceful Spaces had the opportunity to help design the closet of our client’s dreams during the early stages of their building process. By taking the time to understand our client’s goals and her collection, we were able to ensure her closet would have adequate hanging storage (at the right height according to her pieces) and strategic shelving for displaying shoes and handbags.

We’d love to hear about your project and how we can help!

Once the closet was built, it was time to designate zones that would increase the functionality of the closet while also accentuating the client’s beautiful collection. We took into account our client’s active social calendar and created zones that would allow her to clearly see her pieces categorized by occasion - from business casual meetings to formal restaurant openings and everything in between!

PRO TIP: THINK OF DESIGNATING ZONES AS TELLING A STORY!

For her shoes and handbags, we intentionally displayed them in a way that mimics a luxury boutique - allowing her to easily shop from her collection when putting the finishing touches on an outfit.

PRO TIP: WE USED HANDBAG SHAPERS TO HELP KEEP ACCESSORIES STANDING UPRIGHT, BUT YOU CAN EASILY recycle ANY GROCERY OR SHOPPING BAGS YOU HAVE LYING AROUND!

Our client’s collection is beautiful, but what’s more important are the memories that each of these items represent for her. We took great care and pride in preserving those memories and creating a closet that is equal parts show-stopping and serene!

The Pantry

As restauranteurs, meal time is a serious business in the Hillside View Home! To make dinner prep more efficient, we made sauces, condiments and garnishes easily accessible on turntables and decanted frequently used ingredients such as rice and spices. We also dedicated a zone for kids’ breakfasts and lunches with decanted cereal, easy-to-grab snacks and spreads on turntables to ensure mornings run a little more smoothly!

Large white baskets were used for overflow ingredients, seldom used items and larger bagged snacks, and we love how they blend in with the custom shelving to create a seamless (and peaceful!) look.

PRO-TIP: WE LOVE USING THESE BINS FOR OVERFLOW PANTRY ITEMS BECAUSE OF THEIR SIZE AND HOW EASY THEY ARE TO WIPE CLEAN!

The Kitchen

The heart of the Hillside View Home is definitely the kitchen, and we wanted to make it functional for not only meal preparation but also all of the entertaining our clients like to do. Of course, the (not so) secret to a functional kitchen is zone planning! From baking to barware, the Hillside View Home kitchen is zoned and ready for busy weeknight dinners or elaborate holiday gatherings!

We want to hear from you!
