The Graceful Spaces Westview Retreat Home Tour

Welcome to the Westview Retreat home tour! We had the pleasure of helping our client’s move to Austin, Texas feel a little less stressful by sourcing and installing all of their household essentials and creating organizational systems to ensure their new home is ready to be lived in the minute they move in!

Pantry & Kitchen Organization

Often the heart of the home, the kitchen and pantry are a few of our favorite rooms to source product for and organize! With any space and project, we prioritize our client’s daily routines and goals to ensure the systems we install support their lifestyle.

Pantry Solutions

The pantry in the Westview Retreat is the perfect combination of form and function where we tailored the product to match the decor of this beautiful home. We sourced these Neat Method baskets to tie in the home’s metal accents and were pleasantly surprised at how well they coordinated with our favorite Tosca baskets.

Frequently used ingredients and snacks were decanted, while turntables and can risers were used on higher shelves to give our client easier access to those items. We reserved the lower shelves for bins that our client would need to see into.

PRO TIP: An optimally organized pantry will save you money, maximize your space and make even the busiest weeknight meal times much more pleasant!

To help guide you, we’ve broken down the pantry into an easy-to-follow formula here and share even more resources here!

Ultimately, we helped our client create a pantry that is both inviting and functional!

KITCHEN Solutions

Not only did we source, purchase and unpack all of the kitchen supplies for the Westview Retreat, but we also created zones that would help the space function efficiently! We kept cooking utensils and spices within easy reach of the stove to make meal prep a breeze.

PRO TIP: When in doubt, consider a tool’s function to select the perfect location!

The Star of the Show

We love this set from Material Kitchen and were so excited to find it for our client. This set comes equipped with ten essential items to help you chop, slice, stir and whisk your way around the kitchen. We also love that it can be customized with three handle color options and two wood bases to choose from. This set gives a whole new meaning to a sharp looking kitchen! (Get it?!)

Underneath the sink can quickly become a clutter trap of random cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous items. For the Westview Retreat, we were intentional about only keeping kitchen-specific cleaning products underneath the sink. We used a combination of acrylic stackable drawers and turntables to keep kitchen cleaning supplies easily accessible.

Inspired to create a functional kitchen?

Whether you are preparing for a move and determining what you should take with you, unpacking and trying to understand what you are missing, or simply dedicated to creating a functional kitchen that works for you, we’ve created a list of essential kitchen items to help you on your journey here!

Laundry Room Organization

The laundry room is a great space for our New Home Set-Up as laundry essentials and cleaning supplies aren’t often something that is being moved from home to home. However, we ensure that these essentials are fully stocked and have a proper home before you move in, enabling you to start living without worrying about where everything is going to go!

For the Westview Retreat, we thoughtfully created zones within the laundry room to help support our client’s day-to-day routines, including zones stocked with pet and pool supplies. We also used the laundry room’s deep drawers to create an overflow of “Help Yourself” basket supplies that our client can quickly pull from if anything needs to be replenished before welcoming house guests.

PRO TIP: If your laundry room tends to turn into the family catchall, consider adding labeled bins for donations and returns. We also love to add a bin labeled “Return to Owner” for any items that friends and family leave behind. Once a week, make a habit to empty these bins!

Primary Suite Organization

Primary Bathroom Solutions

For the Westview Retreat primary bathroom, we relied heavily on functional decor. We added a decorative stool by Serena and Lily next to the freestanding bathtub in lieu of counter space to hold everything our client would need for an at-home spa night. We also found a solution for the lack of towel storage by adding a freestanding towel rack from Crate and Barrel.

We created other custom solutions in the primary bathroom based on our client’s heart for recycling by placing a mini Simple Human trash can in a deep drawer next to her contacts to help her easily recycle her old contact lenses. At Graceful Spaces, we take the time to learn about our client’s goals and passions and thoughtfully create organizational systems and solutions that support those intentions!

PRO TIP: The most important thing to remember when tackling bathroom organization is to determine how it fits into your routine. Once you know how your bathroom is being used, organize toiletries and other items by how frequently they're needed. Daily and weekly items should be easy to grab, while monthly or occasional products can be more tucked away.

We share ever more tips for mastering your bathroom here!

Her Closet Solutions

Our goal for her primary closet was to create a boutique-worthy space where our client would enjoy getting ready. We used thin hangers to maximize space and organized her clothing by sleeve length and color to help her easily get dressed each day.

For special occasions, we created a formalwear zone in her closet with her dresses and clutches in one spot. Other handbags were displayed using handbag shapers - allowing her to celebrate her collection while protecting her investment!

To protect her sweaters and maximize shelving space, we utilized drop-front sweater boxes. The drop-front closure allows her to easily access her sweaters, and we love that the clear window enables her to easily see her collection at a quick glance.

We also utilized the top shelf by adding coordinating baskets for items our client doesn’t use frequently, including dust bags and seasonal items like scarves.

HIS CLOSET Solutions

The primary focus of his closet was his impressive shoe collection! We utilized the shelves for his everyday shoes and kept his less frequently used sneakers in drop-front shoe boxes. Our client wanted to keep his existing shoe boxes, so we took advantage of the vertical space by stacking the empty boxes on top of the drop-front shoe boxes. Now he can easily see and access his collection!

The Star of the Show

Who says that men can’t have boutique-worthy closets, too? We fell in love with these X-Large Drop Front Shoe Boxes when we used them in The Lavish Landing where we transformed an unused cabinet into functional shoe storage. They’re a sturdy, yet attractive way to protect your shoe collection. And did we mention that they can hold most men’s size 16 shoes?!

Guest Suites Organization

Our New Home Set-Up service goes beyond the essentials to create an elevated experience not just for our clients, but for their guests!

Each guest bathroom in the Westview Retreat was outfitted with a Help Yourself basket filled with everything our client’s guests may need during their stay - not completely unlike what they might experience in a 5-star hotel! We worked with our client to determine what items were important for them to have accessible for their guests, but we’ve included a few ideas below:

  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste

  • Shaving cream

  • Razors

  • Q-tips

  • Chargers

  • Hand Sanitizers

  • Travel tissues

  • Makeup removing wipes

  • Travel size deodorant

  • Sunscreen

  • Feminine products

  • Hair ties

  • Travel size lotion

  • Travel size Ibuprofen/Advil/Tylenol

We went the extra mile for the Westview Retreat and added Pottery Barn robes to each guest bedroom and towels that would match each space. With our New Home Set-Up, every choice we make is unique to that specific space - letting each room speak for itself!
