The Modern Muse, Part Two

Welcome back to The Modern Muse, our largest and most ambitious Fresh Starts project yet. Under the direction of our superstar Products and Services Manager Devon, our Austin team curated over 4500 everyday essentials and pieces of functional decor, organizing all 11,000 square feet of this stunning family compound from top to bottom.

Partnering with Clare Kennedy of Clare Kennedy Interiors, we made our client’s dream of an Instagram-worthy and timeless aesthetic come true. Our team went above and beyond, spending months finding the perfect products to outfit every inch of the space, creating beauty, personalization, and function.

The details of this project are nothing short of incredible. If you haven’t had a chance to see Part I of the reveal, click here. Ready for more? Let the tour begin!

What Makes Us Different

In Part I of The Modern Muse home tour, we explored our Fresh Starts service in detail. Since creating this groundbreaking service, we’ve seen similar offerings popping up around the country. Still, our high standards and commitment to innovation have made our original service the standard for concierge-level support for clients. What’s the secret behind our success?

OUR TEAM

Most organizing companies have an on-call list of people for projects, and these freelancers may be taking on multiple sessions per week in different homes. Our full-time Austin and Charleston teams see a project through from start to finish, ensuring consistency in quality and service from client experience to client experience. We meticulously select new team members (our acceptance rate is 1 in 100), cultivating an environment of collaboration, professionalism, hospitality, and discretion. Every employee at Graceful Spaces undergoes a comprehensive 6-week onboarding process and monthly continuing education covering topics like industry expertise, design, client care, and personal development.

OUR PROCESS

Graceful Spaces offers a full-service experience with a dedicated professional at every touchpoint. From the Discovery Call to the final walkthrough and ongoing refinement, we ensure long-term lifestyle sustainability for our clients, creating the conditions for success and satisfaction for years to come. Our team is committed to transparency and clear communication so clients know what to expect regarding timelines, investment, and project milestones. Our heart is to provide the highest level of service and care in everything we do.

OUR EXPERTISE

In addition to years on the front lines of the industry, our team has a diverse range of skills and perspectives that have shaped Graceful Spaces into the successful company it is today. Co-founder Rebecka brings her experience at Chanel and Neiman Marcus and in-depth knowledge of handbags, designer clothing, and luxury brands. Co-founder Christina brings her entrepreneurial expertise and experience at Nordstrom and Bank of America. Our employees work 48 weeks out of the year, growing their skill sets through on-site projects and monthly ongoing training.

The Primary Suite

Our approach to a successful closet is creating a system of zones and displays so clients feel empowered to “shop” their closet every morning. The team mixed thoughtful pieces and decor from one of our go-to Texas home good boutiques (Decorum) with our clients’ wardrobes and gorgeous investment pieces to create the perfect His and Hers closets.

His Closet

On Display

We love combining curated finds with our client’s current favorites to create an ultra-tailored and unique space. His closet's feature wall of shelving was the perfect place to display his collection of hats, cowboy boots, accent items, and art.

laundry on demand

Having spots for cleaning and laundry on the upper and lower floors is a great way to save time and effort when tackling weekly chores. Our clients included a stackable washer and dryer in the primary suite, so the team made sure to equip the laundry corner with detergent and other essentials for the ultimate convenience.

active zones

The team created zones for hunting and skiing higher up in the closet, along with other items not needed regularly, including seasonal clothing and accessories. We used see-through tubs and labeled fabric bins to store categories, keeping things visible so he could easily pack for a trip.

Her Closet

Handbag Heaven

Our client has an incredible collection of investment pieces—Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Gucci—so the team styled her closet to feel more like a feminine sanctuary than a traditional closet. We are experts in handling luxury pieces with care, understanding how to best store and display them to protect our client's investment and extend the life of each piece. In her primary closet, we relied on trusted go-to tools like hat stands and handbag stands to channel the elegance and polish of a chic boutique.

Elevated Zones

You can tell a lot about our client’s business and hobbies by walking through the zones meticulously constructed by our organizers. Every piece has a place, from everyday business wear to travel staples and a stunning collection of resort wear.

All Made Up

To create the perfect environment for our client’s daily skincare and makeup routine, Devon and her team purchased dozens of beauty items from brands like Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath Labs, Tarte, Aesop, Drunk Elephant, and Drybar. Toiletries, along with hair accessories and beauty tools, were organized into drawers by category for easy access during busy mornings.

The Primary Bathroom

Clare Kennedy and her team have turned the Primary Bathroom into a masterpiece that would be at home on the cover of any interior design magazine. Our role in the space was to outfit every corner with our client's favorite products and delicate decor, reflecting her love of refined brands, organic living, and everyday luxuries.

S(H)ELF-CARE

A well-stocked shower shelf is a must in any primary bathroom. We added our client’s favorites, including Salt & Stone body wash and shampoo and conditioner from the Oribe Gold line (Sephora).

It’s all in the details

Our Product and Special Services team went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was meticulously planned. By understanding our client's daily routines, we ensured that every square inch of their bathroom was equipped with everything they needed. Additionally, we made sure that the brands and aesthetics perfectly aligned with their home vision, preferences, and overall goals.

Have you ever seen a more beautiful bathtub? Every item in the room works together to create a relaxing, refined space for our clients to unwind. She wanted to feel like she was in a spa, so we found luxurious self-care items like this wooden and gold-handled lighter and an exquisite scented candle (Sydney Hale Co.) to make bathtime a true escape. For her bubbles and bath salts, we sourced supplies from Well Kept.

Children’s Spaces

THE BATHROOMS

It was very important to our client that her children's bathrooms reflected their age, style, and interests while keeping with the home's overall theme. We curated and edited every corner of the bath and powder rooms to create a space where family members could unwind, finding kid-friendly products that encourage independence and healthy routines.

COLOR CONTINUITY

Wherever possible, we stuck with a neutral palette to match the tones of each space, adding whimsy with exciting textures and shapes like these darling scalloped towels (Weezie). We love the silicone-handled cups for rinsing hair, which won't injure anyone if dropped during bathtime. Muted-toned bath mats (Anthropologie in the girls' rooms, Pottery Barn in the boys') tie in the decor, while acrylic step stools (Amazon) offer convenience and understated charm.

CHILD-FRIENDLY ESSENTIALS

We used drawer dividers and shallow bins to organize a variety of kid-friendly products in each vanity, from baby cotton swabs and cotton balls to floss sticks and hair gel. Our client requested that we source clean, allergen-free products wherever possible, so Devon researched and sourced clean brands.

BUILDING HABITS

Our client's oldest daughter is eager to develop routines around haircare and skincare. We chose products from Evereden, a kid-focused brand that uses all-natural ingredients. For her hair, we paired a meticulously curated collection of silk scrunchies and hair ties in fun colors with brushes (Wet Brush) and easy-to-use hair tools (T3 from Amazon) so she could do her hair in the morning.

the closets

In the children’s closets, we opted for beautiful baskets and Neat Method labels for categories such as “seasonal”, “memories”, and “too small”. By establishing these categories from the start, you prevent the accumulation of clutter over time.

PRO TIP: Creating the categories is just the beginning. Implement a monthly or quarterly routine to review each bin’s contents, make seasonal swaps, and handle donations.

The Casita

We’ve done our job in a guest space when all visitors need is to pack is their clothing. From natural, eco-friendly toiletries to a fully stocked coffee and tea bar, the casita is brimming with hospitality. Our Product Design Team blended our client’s preferences with those of her most frequent guests—her in-laws and nannies—to create a hyper-customized space where anyone can instantly feel at home.

HELP YOURSELF

The casita bathroom's vanity drawers stock everything guests need to feel at home, from a manicure kit and sanitizing wipes to first aid supplies and extra matches. Help Yourself concierge baskets, a Graceful Spaces staple, are in the linen closet beside the toiletry overflow, along with handy appliances like a travel steamer.

LITTLE TOUCHES

Clare Kennedy Interiors did incredible work in the casita, especially in the dreamy guest bedroom. Part of our Fresh Starts service involves adding functional decor and other everyday necessities, so we purchased beautiful linen charger pads (Courant) that blend in with the rest of the room's decor while offering maximum convenience for overnight guests.

NANNY NECESSITIES

Our clients wanted personalized guest baskets for when one of their nannies spends the night, so we stocked up on their favorite supplies. We filled each 100% leather basket (Rejuvenation) with hair brushes, feminine care, and personalized self-care items.

The Garage

Devon and her team met our client at Home Depot to fully stock our client's garage. They walked every aisle, making notes of everything he pointed at to create a comprehensive inventory of tools and equipment. Everything in this room comes together, from screwdrivers to pickleball paddles, to create a stunning, decked-out space.

THE ULTIMATE TOOLBOX

Our favorite part of this garage is the tool drawers. Nearly everything we purchased at Home Depot was sorted and placed in these drawers. We spaced out tools for maximum visibility, keeping go-to items like box cutters, drill attachments, goggles, batteries, and markers front and center. For anchors, screws, and drill bits, we purchased a range of sizes so our client always had the right tool for the job. On the wall above,  we mounted hooks for bulkier tools from his favorite tool brand, DeWalt.

AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

We love the clean look of these tall cabinets. Using spacious, sleek bins (The Container Store), we organized and labeled cleaning supplies, pest control supplies, faucet covers, ratchet straps, extension cords, power strips, and car detailing gear (Chemical Guys on Amazon).

KEEPING IT PLAYFUL

This garage corner features built-in storage for golf gear and other sports equipment. We love finding unique, limited-edition items for clients, like these pickleball paddles (Recess X Leanne Ford).

The Office

We fell in love with the refined, masculine aesthetic the designers channeled in our client’s home office. Our team worked hard to complement and enhance the design, using micro-categories for office supplies and carefully selected decor.

RED, BLACK & BLUE

Our client loves to have a diverse stock of pens on hand, so we sourced a variety of types in his three go-to colors. In addition to pens, we stocked the drawer with notepads (grid and legal), rubber bands, Sharpies, binder clips, tape, and other office essentials.

MAKING SPACE

When organizing deep drawers like the ones in our client's office desk, we aim for pieces that keep "like" items together while maximizing the space. Tall, labeled pouches hold headphones, chargers, cords, and power banks, keeping his electronics categorized and looking stylish.

WHERE FUNCTION MEETS DESIGN

Like the kitchen space, we consulted with the design team to find pieces of functional decor that would blend in with their previously selected decor. Cambridge bins (The Container Store) offer the perfect space for overflow items, while a Molten Brown candle channels the shelving unit's elegant aesthetic.
