Sustainable, Professional New Home Organization in Austin - Inside the Builders Bliss Project

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at our recent Fresh Starts project for a new home build in Austin, TX! We had the privilege of collaborating with the homeowner and builder, Moazami Homes.

Every home organization project at Graceful Spaces begins with a thorough understanding of our clients' unique needs and goals. For the Moazami family, this process started with a discovery call led by our Client Connections Manager, Cortney. During this initial conversation, we explored the family's primary goals and addressed their questions, hesitations, and concerns to ensure we were covering everything from the start and giving them the reassurance we all want as homeowners.

New Home Architecture Meets Thoughtful Organization & Design

The Moazami family's main concerns revolved around creating systems that would be easy to maintain, especially with their busy family of four. They expressed a desire for everything to have a place—not just for now, but in a way that could sustain the test of time, busy schedules, and growing kids. Health and wellness were key priorities for the family, and they wanted to ensure that every item in their home, from kitchen tools to kids' toys, served a purpose. 

Mom shared how she used to love cooking but found her previous home difficult to navigate, which led her to step away from the kitchen. In their new home, she wanted to reignite that passion and create a space that would allow her to fall back in love with cooking. Her husband emphasized the importance of reducing the stress of moving and ensuring a seamless transition into their new environment. Together, they wanted to empower their kids to be independent, whether it was packing their own lunches or grabbing snacks.

Home Organization Prep for a Stress-Free Move

Once we understood the Moazami family's goals and challenges, we set to work on creating a cohesive plan for their new build. This beautiful home was designed for a family of four, with a luxury aesthetic that needed to be complemented by thoughtful organization. 

We addressed this new home’s organization with two services:

Our pre-project process is thorough, ensuring that every detail is carefully considered before our team arrives on-site. Many of our clients spend years designing and building their dream homes, only to find that the unpacking process happens in a matter of days with little thought given to how the spaces will function or how to ensure long-term sustainability. 

Often, organizational products are purchased sporadically, which can lead to inefficiencies and clutter. 

We are dedicated to providing the same level of attention to detail that our clients invest in their homes. The Moazami’s were looking for whole home organization. We addressed the:

  • Closets and Bedrooms

  • Guest Suite and Media Room

 

Home Kitchen Organization

We approached the kitchen with our Fresh Start service to seamlessly incorporate both new and treasured items. A designated lunch zone was created for the kids, enabling them to pack their own lunches each morning. The clients, who love to entertain, wanted everyone who steps into their home to feel at ease. They aimed to create an environment where guests could comfortably navigate the space without needing to ask where things belong. We helped achieve this by adding labels to all drawers and cabinets, making it simple for anyone in the kitchen to confidently find or put away items.

As avid cooks, the clients also have an impressive spice collection. To support their cooking and entertaining, we created a beautiful spice drawer using Amazon spice organizers for their most frequently used spices. For the overflow and less frequently used spices, we utilized The Home Edit All-Purpose Bins to store them up above, ensuring the kitchen remains organized yet accessible.

 

Sustainable Pantry Organization

The pantry, being open to the rest of the home, needed to be both functional and beautiful from all angles. We carefully selected products that complemented the family’s aesthetic while ensuring easy access to essentials. To achieve this, we incorporated beautiful cane baskets from Neat Method, which seamlessly blended with the home's design. Along with these, we used The Container Store’s Large Pacific Bins to maximize the entire shelf space.

An important goal was to prevent over-shopping and ensure the clients could easily see their inventory. By using Wood Lid Threshold Glass Storage Canisters from Target, the clients can quickly view their cooking ingredients, know what needs to be restocked, and keep ingredients fresh for longer.

In the practical space between the kitchen and pantry, we established a coffee and tea zone to accommodate the family’s specific needs. This area was perfect for storing teas, coffee, powders, and daily supplements, aligning with their health-conscious lifestyle. To ensure convenience and organization, we used The Home Edit Canisters to store all supplements and The Home Edit Clear Bins for any overflow. 

This setup makes it easy for the family to access their daily essentials while keeping the space tidy and functional. These systems help streamline their daily routines, allowing them to move seamlessly and quickly through their mornings.

 

An Organized Laundry & Mudroom

In the laundry room, we implemented strategies to make this often-overlooked space both functional and organized, contributing to the overall flow of the home. Non-toxic products were a top priority for this client, as health and wellness are central to their lifestyle. To meet their needs, we incorporated Branch Basics for their Fresh Starts and ensured all items were easily accessible. We placed a beautiful acrylic tray with labeled Anchor Hocking jars for Oxygen Boosters and dryer balls, along with Branch Basics' glass detergent dispenser. 

This setup allows the client to do laundry with ease while maintaining their commitment to a healthy home environment.

Understanding that pets are family too, we designed a special zone for their beloved dog between the kitchen and mudroom. The client had this area specifically built for their furry family member, and we made sure all dog-related items were stored in one convenient space. From food, treats, and medicine to leashes, grooming supplies, and toys, everything has a designated spot. 

This setup ensures that anyone—whether family members or guests—can easily care for the dog, making it simple and efficient to find exactly what’s needed at any time.

 

The Perfect Apothecary Closet

Rebecka transformed what was initially intended as a pool closet into a stunning apothecary. Utilizing acrylic can risers addressed the client's challenge of not being able to easily see all her supplements. 

Previously, she had to sift through them in a drawer, which took a lot of time when searching for a specific supplement. Now, with the can risers, everything is elevated and easy to find, allowing her to access her daily supplements quickly or assist a family member in need. 

We organized supplements, powders, tinctures, and vitamins by type and use, creating a space where she can easily shop for her wellness needs. Additionally, we incorporated Target Brightroom bins to accommodate larger quantities, ensuring that all items fit beautifully while maintaining clear categories.

 

The Home Office and Man Cave

The office and man cave were also given special attention. In the office, the team created a streamlined system by organizing all his supplies and files in drawers using Multi-Purpose Bins from The Container Store. They categorized items for easy access, allowing him to quickly grab what he needs and focus more on his tasks rather than sifting through drawers. He now finds everything efficiently and effortlessly. Meanwhile, the man cave was transformed into a dream space featuring a golf simulator and bar, all meticulously organized for entertaining.

 

Closet and Bedroom Organization for the Whole Family

Both the primary closets and the kids’ rooms were thoughtfully organized to allow for sustainable organization for the family.

For the first time, the clients now enjoy the wonderful opportunity of a his-and-hers closet. We ensured that each person has their own designated space, allowing for growth and eliminating the need to search through each other's items. This way, they can enjoy the comfort of knowing that only their belongings are in their space.

In the daughter’s room, we selected elevated products to foster a sense of ownership and independence as she transitions into her teenage years. In the kids' closets, the team micro-categorized and labeled drawers, empowering the children to be self-sufficient in getting ready for the day and putting their items away. For both the daughter's and mom's spaces, we used Stackers to categorize their jewelry and accessories.
