4 Organized Packing Tips for Holiday Travels
Traveling can be stressful, but traveling during the holidays? That’s daunting enough to ground even the most seasoned travelers! But while you may not be able to predict flight delays, you can take the guesswork out of packing with these four organization tips.
1. Create a travel zone
Whether it’s a last minute trip to visit relatives or a family vacation that’s been planned months in advance, having your travel essentials fully stocked and easy to access can make any travel experience a little more seamless. After all, nothing makes you feel more in control than being prepared!

We recommend creating a travel zone within the bathroom (perhaps in a drawer or basket under the sink) with your everyday toiletries, including face and body wash, make-up, shampoo and conditioner and daily vitamins, like we did in #theGSClassicChateau. The same can be done in a closet for other travel essentials, such as packing cubes, sleep masks, sound machines, cords and chargers. We love using this tech organizer for keeping all of your cords and chargers neat and tidy in one spot!

2. Invest in Backstock
While it’s an investment at first, purchasing a backstock of your everyday toiletries and other essential items will enable you to pack in advance without interrupting your daily routine. And don’t be afraid to purchase duplicates of bigger items, like curling irons or other hair styling tools. This will reduce the risk of forgetting a beloved essential and will reduce your unpacking time when you get home.
Traveling as a family? Consider creating a designated travel zone in a central location (perhaps the laundry room if space allows) where everyone can pull from. We love the travel zone created in the #TheGSAmarraSanctuary stocked with masks, medicine, hand sanitizer and other travel-sized essentials.

3. Pack with Intention
Pack in the same order that you would dress when getting ready, starting with your undergarments and ending with your shoes. The same can be done with your skincare and make-up routine to ensure you don’t forget anything!
4. Keep an Inventory
Create a list of your travel essentials to help you pack quickly and efficiently without giving it too much thought. And when you arrive home, take a quick inventory and reorder any items that you’re running low on so you’ll be ready to go for your next trip!
bonus: Accessories are your friends!
Did you know that Graceful Spaces Co-Founder Rebecka Jodeit has a background in fashion, both as an Assistant Buyer at Neiman Marcus and a Senior Account Executive at Chanel? So when she shares a style tip, we always make sure to listen!
To stay holiday-party ready even while you’re living out of a suitcase, invest in holiday accessories instead of a full holiday outfit. Not only will it make packing easier, but it also helps eliminate any buyer’s remorse for an outfit you may only wear once. You can add an accessory (Rebecka has her eyes on these earrings!) to any solid dress or sweater and instantly achieve a holiday look!
Store accessories in a travel jewelry organizer, and you’re good to go!
